The molotov cocktail is an incendiary weapon created from a glass bottle (filled with alcoholic fluid) and a block of wool. It is one of the items that can be placed on a bottle rack and thrown by players as an explosive projectile to deal damage and knockback to mobs and other players. It can be customised to deal different amounts of damage by varying the type and intensity of the alcoholic fluid used.
It can be a powerful weapon when you are in a predicament and need a quick means of escape. It's also useful for settings things on fire.
Obtaining[]
Crafting[]
To craft a molotov cocktail, start with a filled bottle of any type containing alcohol. To make stronger explosions and longer flying projectiles, it's recommended to use fluids that are either more distilled or more fermented, such as aged wine, or beer.

Usage[]
Throwing[]
The molotov cocktail can be thrown by holding the use button whilst the item is in your main hand. Throwing a molotov cocktail works similarly to firing a bow: Holding the key for longer will increase the speed and distance at which it will fly when you release the key.
Each use will consume one molotov cocktail, and the thrown projectile will then explode and set fire to the surrounding area when it lands. It's also possible to create "dud" molotov cocktails by using a fluid of insufficient alcohol content. These duds will not explode or deal damage to the surrounding areas when it lands.
Molotov Quality[]
The quality of a molotov cocktail (aka the explosion strength and fire amount) is determined by the alcohol content fluid placed inside it. Very low alcohol will create useless (dud) molotov cocktails, whilst increasingly more potent fluids can be used to create stronger and more powerful molotov cocktails.
The more powerful a molotov cocktail, the larger the explosion and fire spread when it is thrown. The quality is categorised into 8 distinct levels.
Quality Index | Description | Properties |
---|---|---|
0 | Useless | No explosion or fire. This is a "dud". |
1 | Horrible | Small explosion, no fire. |
2 | Bad | Small explosion, very little fire. |
3 | Decent | Small explosion, some fire. |
4 | Good | Medium explosion, some fire. |
5 | Excellent | Large explosion, some fire. |
6 | Perfect | Large explosion, medium fire. |
7 | Unreal | Large explosion, lots of fire. |
